“THE WORD – Trust in the Lord…”

THE WORD – This proverb is one of my favorite scriptures. I’ve memorized it, quoted it and repeated it over and over through good times and not so good times.

How easy it is to fall back on our “own understanding” and forget to place our trust in Jesus. If we truly want God to direct our paths here is the method outlined for us:

Trust. With all our hearts. Not just a portion. ALL.

Lean not to our own understanding. Stop trying to figure it out with our limited vision. It never works that way.

Acknowledge Him. Let’s define “acknowledge.” To concede, confess, declare, to recognize the authority of…Aha! It all starts to make sense.

If we follow this instruction, God has promised to direct our paths. We know there will always be situations that seem impossible, problems that don’t go away and people that never change.

Oh yes, but Jesus is our Waymaker. He will make a way for us – where there is no way!  He will direct our paths.

God help us to trust and to stop leaning on our own solutions. Lord, we acknowledge You have complete authority over all. And we’re excited about the grand adventure of having YOU direct our paths!

Have you recognized the hand of God leading your steps?

  1. It’s interesting that you would ask that question today. The 2014 Christian Communicators Conference was last week, and over and over God reminded me that it was His plan, His conference. I never envisioned it, never dreamed it, didn’t really think it was anything I was supposed to do. But He repeatedly gave me confirmation, even though I didn’t want to hear it. But finally, I had to admit that He was calling me to start CCC.

Today I can’t imagine my life without CCC. I can definitely say God’s hand led my steps!

  3. This is also a favorite verse of mine. I’m so glad that I was reminded of it TODAY! I came through a rather disappointing weekend and to read this verse now… it helped me to refocus on what’s really important: Trusting in the Lord and HE will direct my path.
Thanks for the reminder, Cynthia, it changed the color of my day! Blessings! Anita
