“One day at a time…” by Cynthia A. Lovely

IN OTHER WORDSHow are y’all doing with those New Year resolutions and goals?

The common mistake we often make is to set unrealistic, overwhelming goals and thereby the best laid plans start to fall by the wayside.

I know I’ve done this and I’m sure there are others out there like me.

So…taking it one day at a time, working towards a better and brighter future.

  • Working steadily on de-cluttering.
  • Trying to make more time for friends.
  • Allowing myself room to breathe and to relax.

And most important of all, focusing on the Lord who makes all things possible. Sweet fellowship with my dearest and best friend, the One who sticks closer than a brother…

Aim for the future. Set those goals. But remember…ONE DAY AT A TIME!

“Are you overwhelmed? – Try the 5 D’s” by Cynthia A. Lovely

A WORD – Goal: something you are trying to do or achieve.

We’re already into March and I’m wondering how some of those New Year resolutions are working out for everyone. Instead of resolutions, I try to set goals. Resolution or goal, life still catches up and throws me off balance. Thinking about all the areas I hope to be productive in and feeling like I’m failing in each and every one. I’m finding myself overwhelmed and frustrated.

Work, church, home, people, events, circumstances….AHHHH! Am I the only one who feels this way?

Time to take a deep breath and set new, simple goals. Yes, must simplify to make it reasonable and doable.

  • Devotion: Jesus first. Every day with praise, prayer and the Word.
  • Declutter: Small tasks around the house, every little bit counts.
  • Delve: into writing. Get the words on paper, even if its short. Just write.
  • Discover: new friends, new places, new experiences. Make time for people.
  • Daydream: break for a rest. Take a walk, read a magazine, mail a greeting card, make a phone call.

Do you have a simple plan to set new goals?

Will you join me in the 5-D plan?
