“Worship from Dawn to Dusk” by Cynthia A. Lovely

THE WORD – I wonder what would happen if we followed this scripture every day.

Waking with a praise in our hearts and ending each day thanking God for His goodness and grace.

Or better yet…what if we sought out time to pray and praise morning, noon and night?

No matter where we were at or what we were doing. Taking a moment to bow our heads before the King of Kings and speak words of praise and adoration.

I imagine it would shake up our lives.

There are false religions that follow such practices. But their words are meaningless because they worship dead idols. We serve the only true God! Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, our Savior.

Would you join me in this practice during this holy season?

Prayer and praise leading up to the celebration of Resurrection Sunday!

You’re invited to leave a comment on how you plan to do this in your daily lifestyle.

“A Lesson of Life & Limbs” by Cynthia A. Lovely (or time will work it all out)

IN MY WORDS – We have huge pine trees on our property. A few winters ago, one of the branches ripped off and fell a few feet down the pine tree, catching another branch to break its fall and to hang with determination, daring anyone to reach its lofty height and be removed.

We didn’t have a ladder high enough to reach it. Should we pay a ridiculous price to have someone come and remove the silly thing? Nah. It would come down…eventually.

The stubborn branch hung crookedly in the same position month after month after month…well, you get the picture. We decided to ignore it since it wasn’t a hazard to anything.

One morning I noticed a new branch on the ground. Could it be? Yes! It had finally given in to gusty winds and loosened its death grip on the pine tree. A wind must have caught it just right and unhooked it, sending it to the ground.

I’m sure there is a morale or sermon to this somewhere.

  • If we leave things alone long enough, life will take care of it?
  • Don’t sweat the stubborn limbs?
  • Stop worrying about your problems and they will take care of themselves?

Help me out here with your ending to this story!

“What Does It Mean to be Called?” by Cynthia A. Lovely

IN OTHER WORDS – In this book by G. Macdonald, he discusses how John the Baptist could have given in to the crowds, played up his own growing popularity and started his own following. But he didn’t. Because he knew his calling.

He had an “unwavering sense of purpose.” He knew his role as the forerunner to Christ. “He must increase, I must decrease.” John 3:30

He did not have a mistaken identity but was certain of his own identity and calling. This is so vitally important in any leadership ministry.

I pray that Godly leaders will not seek their own following but will be tuned in to the Spirit of God and obedient to His calling. May all that we do bring GLORY TO GOD!

Do you know leaders that are Called, Obedient, Faithful, and secure in their identity in Christ?

Are you Called?
