I love sunflowers.
Sunny, cheery, summery splashes of color.
When we visit Long Island in the summer, the roads along the North Fork are always full of sunflowers. I’ve tried to grow them in my yard without much success. This summer I noticed some plants coming up in the old garden. Hmm…we didn’t plant anything this year. God surprised me with healthy stalks of sunflowers! Don’t know where they came from but I love God’s surprises.
Has God surprised you lately?
I like sunflowers, too, and so does my oldest daughter. It’s been so much fun to find knick-knacks that have a sunflower theme. The surprise comes when I find something unusual with sunflowers on it. I give all my finds to my daughter. Her kitchen is filled with fun items reflecting that sunny, special blossom. Sometimes I wonder if she gets tired of the sunflowers, but then she’ll tell me of another item that she’s added to her collection and when she moved from Colorado back to Oklahoma she continued with sunflowers in her new home. Those happy, cheerful flowers just seem to get into your heart. Thanks, Cynthia, for allowing me to share the sweet adventure of sunflower hunting with you. Have a wonderful, sunflower day!

Anita,
I was so pleased to find them unexpectedly in my garden! Enjoying them while they last, before the colder weather sets in. Glad you’re able to share the sunflower theme with your daughter.
