IN MY WORDS – A summer city worker hit a rock with his huge mower which flew into my sister’s car window as she drove by yesterday. I had prayed for her that morning, along with praying for my husband and myself for safety and protection during our day.
God protected my sister; the rock came through the rear side window and shattered it. It is only God’s protection that saved her from crashing into someone else in traffic when the rock exploded through her window. It could have come through the driver’s window and hit her but the angels prevented it! God protects His children from so much and sometimes we’re not even aware of it. From the major to the minor.
Like the fly in my drink. Enjoying a cold drink of water on an almost-summer day, I picked it up for a few more swallows and happened to look at it first. Yes, Mr. Fly was sunbathing in my glass. Eww…thank God for His protection.
And no, Mr. Fly hadn’t been there before, he must have snuck in while the glass sat on the table as I was immersed in a good novel. I’m grateful for our Savior who protects us from seen and unseen circumstances! How has God protected you lately?
God protects us in traffic every day. I would be crushed if I hurt someone else. Two days ago, a motorcycle bearing a man and woman roared past my left, crossed in front and continued to the right lane on an Interstate highway. I wanted to move into that left lane, and checked my mirrors. At the last instant, I twisted and looked back and discovered another couple on a motorcycle about a foot left of my car. Their roar had been covered by the first motorcycle. Thank God I didn’t sweep those people off their wheels.

Lee,
Thankful for God’s continual protection! My husband used to ride a motorcycle and it is so easy to miss sometimes as they weave in and out of traffic…

Great thoughts, Cynthia. With conscious effort I am seeing daily little and big ways that He “has my back.” Makes me wonder if I’ve looked the wrong way at times.

Elaine,
Yes, I think as we observe more and focus, we realize how often God protects us!

It’s amazing what God does for us! Most of the time we don’t even notice. Over my years of driving to work, I remember two times when, after I complained about being stopped at a couple red lights, I came upon wrecks and I knew I probably would’ve been caught up in those if not for the delay. God is good!

Sherry,
Someday we’ll find out all the times God protected us when we didn’t have a clue!
