At the risk of being misunderstood by the multitudes of pumpkin lovers, I must admit right up front – I don’t do pumpkins. Actually, the orange globes themselves don’t bother me, like the grinning faces above are kinda’ cute. It’s the flavor explosion and the every imaginable pumpkin flavored this and that. Pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin cupcakes and don’t even get me started on the drinks.
This certainly isn’t a political statement so I don’t think I can be termed politically incorrect. Though I’m sure someone will be offended so I still may be in trouble. It is just a personal opinion and I am stating it loud and unashamed – I don’t like pumpkin flavored anything! Whew…that wasn’t easy.
Now all my friends and family who are faithful fans of pumpkin-everything – enjoy! I’m happy for you that the season is here and you can find new and pumpkinly ways to dwell on this autumn flavor. Personally, I’m just plum pumpkin-petered out.
As for me and my house, our fall celebrations will include some hot apple cider and sugared cider donuts…mmm…good. No pumpkins allowed.
I have to ask, am I the only one who doesn’t like pumpkin? Is there anyone else out there?? Maybe we should start a no pumpkin support group?
I’m with you, Cynthia. I love the beauty of pumpkins, but I don’t plan to eat them or their derivatives. 🙂 Bring on the cider and donuts!

Oh good, I’m glad I’m not the only one : ) Stopped for cider doughnuts last week and they were still warm from the oven at the country store.

I’m not a big pumpkin fan either. I like it if there’s lots of allspice and cinnamon and other spices mixed in. But then maybe it’s the spices I like…

I’m surprised so many people like the pumpkin lattes. Eww.. Maybe for the same reason, you taste the spices more than the pumpkin!
