The song “Great is Thy Faithfulness” keeps rolling through my mind today. God is a trustworthy Savior. When we have no might, He supplies our need and gives us supernatural strength.

When we walk through the dark times, He brings light through spiritual mentors and dear friends. Through unexpected and unexplained ways. Shining His love into those hurt places. This is true in all aspects of our walk with God. Including our writing. When we are discouraged, He sends encourage-ment. At just the right moment and in His perfect timing.

Has the Lord encouraged you in your writing efforts?

I encourage you today to continue writing for the glory of God. He has called you and the burden of your heart needs to flow out of your pen (or tap it’s way across your keyboard…) Write to spread God’s glory. Let His name be glorified through your voice. You are unique. No one else has your fingerprint or your experience.

God is faithful. Be faithful to Him in the calling He has given you.

Please share a memory of God’s faithfulness.

King’s Highway

There are times in all of our lives when we are faced with difficult situations. Facing hurts, betrayal, confusion and unjust accusations. As Christians we are admonished to turn the other cheek, walk the extra mile, take the higher road. As writers, we are encouraged to write from these painful places and craft our words to help others along the way.

How do you take the higher road in your writing?

Is it hard for you to write about personal pain?

I read an article this week online that ministered to my heart. Read it once – cried. Read it again – cried some more. Sent an email to the author thanking her for her words and received a gracious response and an offer of prayer. Beautiful. Her words, written from her own experience, touched my life. My words in response encouraged her.

I’d love to hear your comments – has someone ministered to you through their writing? Have you touched someone’s life with your written words? If you’d like, include a link to a story or article you have written from a rough place in your life. Or share a favorite author who always speaks to your heart through their writing.

It’s not easy… but if you take the higher road, you’ll draw closer to Jesus.

Have you taken a moment today to give thanks?

How often we pray and pray and ask and ask, then when God answers our prayer, we toss off a casual, “thanks” and go about our day. I know I’ve done it.   I bet you have, too.

Lately, I’m trying to put as much effort and passion into my giving of thanks as I do in my constant requests and pleas for help. And I am feeling the difference. The joy that comes from my gratitude and heartfelt worship to the Creator of all.

I challenge you to list five things that you are thankful for this week. Truly and deeply thankful for. I’ll start with one – I’m so grateful the snow is gone and fall is back! Yippee! Let’s build up a good “Thanks Deposit” this week because next week we may be going down Rejection Road…and it won’t feel quite as rocky if we have paved the way with thanksgiving.
