“Rough Week, Anyone?” by Cynthia A. Lovely

IN OTHER WORDS – Dickens had it right.

This past week had too many misfortunes so time to reflect on the blessings. I’m grateful it is my left  hand in a cast and not my right. Blessed to have unexpected time at home to catch up on my studies. Thankful for a kind husband  who is making a valiant attempt to braid my long hair.

Have you had a rough week?

What are your blessings?

“Leadership” by Cynthia A. Lovely

Developing The Leaders Around You (Repack)

IN OTHER WORDS – From John Maxwell’s book, “Acquiring and keeping good people is a leader’s most important task.”

“There is no success without a successor.”

“The more people you lead, the more leaders you need.”

Leadership in our churches is often an area we overlook.

Perhaps we think this happens naturally and things simply fall into place. Not!

I highly recommend John Maxwell’s book on leadership for anyone involved in ministry.

Have you read a good book lately on leadership?

“Writer Friends” by Cynthia A. Lovely

IN OTHER WORDS – Love this quote. Good friends are a blessing from the Lord.

And good writer friends are some of the most crazy, zany, imaginative, laugh-a-minute kind of people to be blessed with.

So wonderful to participate in the Blue Ridge Mts. Christian Writers Conference and meet old friends and find new ones! Pics to follow…

What are your “friend” stories where you discovered kindred spirits?

The Wisdom of Benjamin Franklin

IN OTHER WORDS – I think he had it right!

                       For struggling writers everywhere.

If it’s not happening, go do something else for awhile.

  • Take a hike.
  • Take up an instrument.
  • Take pictures.
  • Take a class.
  • Take a trip.

Then go back and write something worth reading!

In Other Words – Together

Winter 2014 - Photo by C.A. Lovely

Snowflakes are one of nature’s most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together.”- Vesta M. Kelly

“Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.” I Cor. 1:10

Imagine what we could do, working together!

This should be the last winter post of snowy weather since SPRING  arrives next week.

  • A few details:Stop by www.brmcwc.com to read my 3/11/14 post about the Blue Ridge Mts. Christian Writers Conference in May. Can’t wait!
  • To celebrate the end of winter and usher in the days of Sweet Tea, leave a comment to enter a drawing for  “Secrets Over Sweet Tea” by Denise Hildreth Jones.
  • Answer this question in your comment: In your locale, how soon can you sit outside in warm weather sharing Sweet Tea with a friend?
