The Word – Are You Weary?

Are you weary?

I’ve noticed the weariness in people this week.

Tired of winter chill and blustery storms.

Cabin-fever weariness.

Others look burdened with problems and stressed from work or home situations.

Yet God’s promises stand sure. If we come to Him, He will give us rest.

Not a passing, fleeting emotion.

But deep-down Jesus- Only- Can- Give rest.

I’ve been in church services recently and watched God’s children being blessed.Worshiping, singing, praying, dancing, feeling the beautiful life giving presence of God.

The Lord in His great mercy, a loving Father raining down rest upon His children.

Understanding our weariness.

Seeing our need.

We serve an awesome Savior.

Has Jesus brought rest to your weary heart lately?

A Word – NAP

Remember the days when you were invited, forced to take an afternoon Nap? I am determined to follow my kindergarten teacher’s instructions into adulthood.

The word “Nap” is short and sweet, exactly like the activity itself. Winter is the perfect time to put this into practice. Ah, a long winters nap. Curling up on the couch with the electric fireplace glowing warmth, snowflakes falling gently outside, covering up with a cozy throw…yawn. Naps are delightful. The rest of the day looks so much better after a lovely Nap. Sorry, but I’ve talked myself right into another (yawn) …zzzzzz

Indulge yourself, go take a Nap.

In Other Words – AustenSpeak

I was pleasantly surprised with this new book. Okay, more than pleasantly surprised. Dear Mr. Knightley is an awesome story written with engaging characters, depth of emotion, a compelling plot, and a chance to laugh and cry in all the right places.   Love books that make me laugh and cry. Sometimes within a few sentences of each other.

The references to Austen sprinkled throughout add a colorful and appealing flavor. The story turned out to be so much more than I thought it would be, a completely satisfying read. And if you like anything about Jane Austen, you will love this book. Kudos to Reay on an outstanding debut novel!

Have you read it yet?

If you read a great novel this month, please leave a recommendation in a comment, thank you!
