“Blue Ridge Christian Writers Conference 2015” by Cynthia A. Lovely

If you’ve never been to a Writer’s Conference, you need to consider this one.

This was my 8th year attending and I still found new classes and workshops along with an awesome faculty. It was wonderful to have Vonda Skelton and Deb Raney back once again! Along with Jim Watkins and Torry Martin. I do hope Dr. Al pairs Yvonne Lehman and Torry up once again, what a team!

So glad to see old friends, Jorlyn, Sherry, Dee Dee, Erin, Michelle and others. Also meeting new sweet friends, Dorcas and hubby Zee and Alicyn who I’m still waiting to hear from, hint hint.. I hope all who attended left with a new inspiration and firm resolve to dig deeper into the writing craft.

  • Returning home…after the conference: If an agent or editor requested material from you, send it out!
  • Follow up new contacts with a simple email.
  • Connect with another conferee to share goals each month.
  • Organize notes from conference, including handouts from website.
  • WRITE!

“Vision” by Cynthia A. Lovely

IN OTHER WORDS – The above phrase makes me laugh.

Bringing to mind people, places and events that fit either category.

Yes, vision must have legs to it. Action that makes it happen and brings the desired goal to pass.

But action without true vision? Yikes!

Have you experienced vision without action? Or action without vision?

“Another Mother’s Day” by Cynthia A. Lovely

A WORD – Mother. A word that means many different things to many different people.

Fortunately, I was blessed with a beautiful, loving Mother and have sweet, wonderful memories of her. I will never stop missing her.

I wish all the mothers reading this blog, a lovely special day today as the world centers around another “Mothers Day.”

For those of you who are single, childless, or grieving the loss of a mother, I pray that God covers you with His unending love.

Mother’s Day can be a difficult time for many, but remember it is just one day, a blip on the calendar that will be gone in a flash. I hope no one made you feel uncomfortable today or “less than” because you are not  a mother. I pray that the Lord whispers His words of comfort to you if your mother is no longer with you.

May Jesus hold you close to His heart and remind you how very dear you are to Him.
