“Christmas Traditions -the Center of it all…” by Cynthia A. Lovely

Christmas Corner Do you still send Christmas Cards?

Every year at the “after-Christmas” sales I make sure I find new cards for the following year.

In my search for the perfect Christmas message, I rule out many that have pretty winter scenes, catchy phrases, and often beautiful verses. Why? If the card does not center on the true message of Christmas, “Emmanuel, God with us,” I will continue to search.

This is the perfect time of year to spread the Good News yet we still get caught up in the holiday hoopla. There are beautiful cards out there with scripture verses and heartfelt greetings that share the love of Christ.

Let us hold to the message and take the time to share the beauty of Christmas at this time of year!

“Slow Stretch Into Winter” by Cynthia A. Lovely

THE WORD – “For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from Heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater; so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth; it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isaiah 55:10-11

God does bring the rain and the snow, all for a purpose. I am so thankful for His Word. All His promises are yea and amen!

We still haven’t had any snow in upstate New York which is very unusual for this time of year. (photo is from last year!) Part of me is glad. And another part wishes for at least a covering on the ground so it feels more like Christmas. It is dangerous to wish for that here since it could end up as one of our much-talked-about snowstorms. Hopefully we will have at least a dusting for the week of Christmas.

Here’s another book giveaway for “Her Christmas Protector” by Terri Reed. Leave a comment with a scripture verse that  mentions snow to enter the drawing : ) Please let me know what state you are from and if you get much snow…and check back next week.

“It is a good thing…” by Cynthia A. Lovely

Best wishes to all for a happy, healthy, safe and blessed Thanksgiving.

If we took the time to list all the things we are thankful for, I’m sure we would have pages and pages listed. We give thanks unto the Lord, the giver of all good gifts.

Whether you are surrounded by family and friends or completely alone today…God is with you. He promises to never leave or forsake us.

And for those Black Friday shoppers tomorrow…be careful! It’s a crazy world out there. Personally, I’m avoiding all malls and crowds. I will probably take my city-girl sister out so she won’t get too bored in the country. But we’ll go to a small village, perhaps visit a tea room and if we buy anything it will be to support local shops and village businesses.

God bless you this Thanksgiving Day!

Winner of the Amish book from last week is…Cindy – Congrats! Please send me your email address.
