“Step carefully…” by Cynthia A. Lovely

Do you trip easily?

Are you a fast walker?

Do you pay attention to where you’re going?

How often we get caught up in the chaos of everyday life and find ourselves in places we never intended to be in.

This may not always be a forbidden place or dangerous territory. But it can be a place of complete distraction to where the Lord wants to lead us.

As I get older, I find myself intentionally slowing my pace. I’ve fallen before from not paying attention to where I was walking, tripped on a broken sidewalk and broken my wrist. Painful consequences of not “pondering the path!”

I’m sure we don’t want to stumble or fall in our spiritual walk. Or to rush ahead of God’s plan.

My prayer for you: God help us to learn how to ponder the path of our feet and allow all our ways to be established in You.

Question: This week, have you thought about where you are walking? Is it time to slow down?

“One day at a time…” by Cynthia A. Lovely

IN OTHER WORDSHow are y’all doing with those New Year resolutions and goals?

The common mistake we often make is to set unrealistic, overwhelming goals and thereby the best laid plans start to fall by the wayside.

I know I’ve done this and I’m sure there are others out there like me.

So…taking it one day at a time, working towards a better and brighter future.

  • Working steadily on de-cluttering.
  • Trying to make more time for friends.
  • Allowing myself room to breathe and to relax.

And most important of all, focusing on the Lord who makes all things possible. Sweet fellowship with my dearest and best friend, the One who sticks closer than a brother…

Aim for the future. Set those goals. But remember…ONE DAY AT A TIME!

“Calendar Snob” by Cynthia A. Lovely

IN MY WORDS – I confess. Freely. Unreservedly.

I am a calendar snob.

I love new calendars and appointment books. But not just any one will do.

I spent a lot of time searching for the perfect set of blank pages artistically arranged for my life this coming year. And on a recent trip to Vermont and a stop at Northshire Bookstore, I found it.

The rich, ancient brown binding with gold embossed trim called to me.

I picked it up and the slim volume fit perfectly in my hand.

7 inches tall and 3 and 1/2 inches wide. With plenty of space inside for all my exciting, upcoming events and plans.

I know many use their iphones and ipads for their special appointments. But alas, I am a calendar snob. Don’t have one of those new-fangled smartie-phones.  Because just like my actual books-in-hand-not digital, I prefer the real thing.

Y’all digital people, enjoy. Each to his own.

However, I always have “service” and can check my sweet book any time of the day or night. Just sayin’…

What type of calendar or planner do you use? Are you a calendar snob?
