I did it again. I broke down and completed the reservation process for Blue Ridge. Each year (this will be the 6th) I keep telling myself I’ll skip a year and save the money. Then that pesky Al puts together an outstanding faculty and adds new and wonderful classes and workshops. Editors, speakers, agents and teachers, who could ask for anything more? I’m back at the keyboard searching for inexpensive flights which don’t exist. Sigh.
If you haven’t been to this conference, you don’t know what you’re missing. Set in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains it is impossible to remain uninspired. Lovely accommodations, state of the art classrooms and a spacious conference room to hold the ever increasing crowd. Writing courses for all interests and levels and a pace so intense, you’ll have to find your own quiet time to catch your breath.

I agree — this is an awesome conference. You feel like you’re immersed in a pool of creativity and writing excitement. It’s great to “rub elbows” with some of the greats (authors, writers, teachers) and absorb everything that pours out of them during the week!
If I get to go this year (still looking at how my spring will play out), it will be my sixth time there too. That’s where I met Cynthia — it was a great time!!
If you are a writer or even think you want to be a writer, this is the conference to go to. It’s very reasonable for the amount of material you get and the access to professionals who are willing to talk with you and answer any question you have.

Yes, I noticed you were on the faculty this year – congratulations! I think the first year I came was when one of your first books came out. You have made so much progress in such a short time, very impressive : ) You are definitely a Blue Ridge success story. As far as the cheap flight, we finally found one that is doable.
